San Antonio’s own Anthony Ivy is a veteran of the regional MMA scene that has racked up championship wins across various promotions, including Fury FC, XKO, and WXC. Ivy, who sports an 11-7 record with all 11 wins coming via a finish, had two UFC fights in 2020, coming up short against Bryan Barbarena and Christian Aguilera. The UFC losses sparked a bit of a skid for him, but he’s since rebounded with three straight victories. He most recently fought at PCS 3 in June, scoring a first-round submission of Chris Pecero.

A Utah native, Carson Hardman is 12-3 and has won a pair of his own welterweight titles on the regional scene. Hardman, a Utah native, has won three straight and four of his last five. With all but one of his finishes coming by stoppage, Hardman most recently fought at Fierce FC 23 in January, scoring a second-round finish of Bhabajeet Choudhury.

Ivy and Hardman have a combined 22 finishes in the 23 fights between them, and they will look for a spectacular performance (and perhaps another finish) as they collide in a welterweight showcase bout.

Round 1

Hardman starts with an overhand right, and Ivy answers with a kick. Ivy does a level change and presses Hardman against the PFL SmartCage. The two each get an underhook, but Ivy is able to get Hardman to the ground. Ivy battling in half-guard, landing a few shots as he looks for the crucifix. Ivy continuously landing the right hand to Hardman’s head. Hardman tries for an underhook, but he turns his back and Ivy takes advantage, locking in a rear-naked choke for a first-round submission win!

Anthony Ivy’s winning streak continues with an excellent PFL debut!
